An alternative way to get the real Cretan feeling is a ride on a donkey. At our stables we have 20 beautiful friendly donkeys.
Donkeys were very popular in Greece until the end of the 60’s. Each family lived in the countryside, had its own donkey that was mainly used for transporting and agricultural activities. Unfortunately, in our days donkeys are a species on the brink of extinction.
Donkeys are very gentle, patient and calm animals and they provide a very peaceful ride. Our guests are overwhelmed and live an unforgettable experience when choosing a donkey ride!
Special attention is also given to our donkeys! In co-operation with G.A.W.F. (operation of Animal Action in Greece), Plakias Horse Riding Center shelters and takes care of many other donkeys in the surrounding area that are very old or retired.
